Dr. Yi at Renov Dental is truly one of a kind. From the very first moment, she took her time with me and was incredibly thorough — I never felt like just another patient being rushed through. Her kindness put me at ease right away, and it was clear that she genuinely cares about the people she treats. Her hygienist went above and beyond as well, offering me a pillow for comfort and making sure the room had a pleasant, calming scent — those little touches really made a difference. What really stood out was Dr. Yi's honesty. She gave me a straightforward assessment of my dental health without any unnecessary upselling or pressure. I always felt like she had my best interests at heart. I highly recommend Dr. Yi and her wonderful team to anyone looking for a dentist who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and completely trustworthy.

We have been patients of Dr Yi for over a decade. When she moved to Claremont I decided that the hour plus drive to see her was worth it for myself and my son. Just recently after going to see multiple dentists and not receiving the same quality of care she provides my husband followed suit and made the change. As luck would have it, my husband cracked a tooth on a Saturday of all days. He sent a text message to the office informing them of the emergency. Dr Yi took the time to communicate with him on Easter Sunday and had him in on Monday. My husband was worried about loosing the tooth and all the money he would have to spend on an implant. Dr Yi worked her magic and saved the tooth. Any other denstist would have pulled it but she truly cares about her patients not just making a buck. She is always kind, takes the time to listen to your concerns and always tries to provide the best care and recommends the best path forward when it comes to deciding on a treatment plan. Truly the best dentist and staff.

Finding Dr. Yi was the best thing I have done for my dental health. I had avoided visiting the dentist for twenty years due to extreme fear. Well, Dr. Yi’s patience, kindness, and gentleness calmed my nerves, so much so that I was able to get my dental health back on track. I can truly say that I am no longer afraid of going to the dentist. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Yi and her amazing staff.

My husband and I completed our full dental treatment with Dr. Sally Yi at Renov Dental Group, and it was truly one of the best dental experiences we’ve ever had. The professionalism, care, attention to detail, and genuinely warm atmosphere were present at every step — from the very first visit to the final result. I’ve always been very afraid of pain and dentists, but Dr. Yi treated me with such tenderness and care, as if I were her own daughter. That sense of safety and respect for my fears was priceless. She explained everything calmly, worked gently and precisely, and I felt trust from the very beginning. A special thank you to Kristine, who was always incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. Even the little touches — like the drink fridge at the entrance — show how much they care about their patients. All the juices are sugar-free! Isn’t that just the sweetest thing? We’re deeply grateful to the entire team for their professionalism, warmth, and heartfelt care. We’re your patients for life now ❤️

Dr. Yi is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable in her expertise. Dr. Yi is the first dentist I have had in my entire 34 years of life who has taken the time to give excellent advice with top-tier bedside manner. Dr. Yi spent time thoroughly explaining each procedure to me and visually showing me in my X-rays the issue at hand. In addition, Dr. Yi made it very clear that my dental care was my choice and she would support each of my decisions. I felt comfortable, informed, and welcomed in her care. This level of care I’ve received from Dr. Yi is exceptional. Lastly, her office staff is equally as talented and courteous. They provided a great environment of support, knowledge and care. I will continue to come back to Dr. Yi’s office and recommend her practice to new patients looking for a group who truly cares about your dental health. I also loved the small details in her practice (essential oils, drinks at the front, copies of procedures prior to agreeing). The above components add up to a great experience for any patient looking for competent, intelligent and talented clinicians!

FAQ

How do I know if my wisdom teeth need to be removed?+

Common signs include pain, swelling, repeated gum irritation, difficulty cleaning the area, decay in the back molars, or wisdom teeth that are impacted or growing in at an angle. An exam and X-rays are usually needed to confirm whether removal is recommended.

Is wisdom teeth removal always necessary?+

No. Some wisdom teeth can be monitored if they are healthy, fully erupted, and not causing problems. Removal is usually recommended when the teeth are likely to create pain, infection, crowding, or damage to nearby teeth.

What happens during a wisdom teeth consultation?+

Your dentist will review your symptoms, examine your mouth, and evaluate X-rays if needed. Based on the findings, you will receive a treatment recommendation and an explanation of the risks, benefits, and alternatives.

What should I expect during recovery?+

Recovery varies by patient and by the complexity of the extraction. Mild to moderate swelling, soreness, and temporary changes in eating are common. You will receive aftercare instructions to help support healing and reduce the chance of complications.

Are there risks or side effects after wisdom teeth removal?+

Yes. As with any oral surgery, there can be temporary pain, swelling, bleeding, or sensitivity. Less common complications may also occur, which is why a careful exam and clear aftercare instructions are important.

When should I call the office after treatment?+

You should contact the office if you have worsening pain, heavy bleeding, fever, increasing swelling, or any symptom that seems unusual during recovery. We can help determine whether your symptoms are part of normal healing or need attention.

Wisdom Teeth Removal Services in San Dimas

Wisdom teeth removal is a common oral surgery procedure used to address impacted, painful, or problematic third molars. At Renov Dental Group, we evaluate each case carefully and recommend treatment only when it is likely to help protect your oral health. This service may be appropriate for patients with recurring pain, swelling, gum irritation, decay around the back molars, or wisdom teeth that are trapped under the gums or growing in at an angle.

Your visit may include an exam, digital imaging, a review of symptoms, and a discussion of whether extraction is the best option. If removal is recommended, we will explain the procedure, recovery expectations, and aftercare instructions so you know what to expect. Because every mouth is different, the final treatment plan is based on your anatomy, comfort level, and overall dental health.

Important Considerations Before Treatment

Wisdom teeth removal is not the same for every patient. Some extractions are straightforward, while others are more complex if the teeth are impacted or close to nerves and other structures. Your dentist will review risks, benefits, and alternatives with you before treatment. Mild to moderate discomfort, swelling, and temporary dietary changes are common after extraction, and recovery time can vary from person to person.

In some cases, treatment may be postponed or referred for additional evaluation if the teeth are positioned near sensitive anatomy, if there is active infection that needs to be managed first, or if your medical history requires extra precautions. We will always discuss these factors with you so you can make an informed decision.

Book a Wisdom Teeth Consultation

If you are having pain, pressure, swelling, or repeated irritation near your back molars, a consultation can help determine whether wisdom teeth removal is the right next step. Contact Renov Dental Group to schedule an evaluation and get a personalized treatment recommendation. We will review your symptoms, examine the area, and explain whether monitoring, removal, or another approach is most appropriate for your needs.

Who Wisdom Teeth Removal Is For

Wisdom teeth removal may be recommended for patients whose third molars are causing pain, swelling, crowding, repeated gum irritation, or difficulty keeping the area clean. It may also be appropriate when wisdom teeth are impacted, partially erupted, or creating a risk of decay or infection in nearby teeth.

Not every patient needs extraction right away. In some cases, monitoring is the best option. A consultation helps determine whether removal is likely to benefit your oral health now or whether a watch-and-wait approach is more appropriate.

What’s Included in Your Visit

Your wisdom teeth visit may include a clinical exam, digital imaging, a review of your symptoms, and a discussion of treatment options. If extraction is recommended, we will explain the procedure, what type of recovery to expect, and how to care for the area afterward.

We also take time to answer questions about comfort, timing, and any medical considerations that may affect your treatment plan. The goal is to give you clear information so you can make an informed decision.
